Hello from Napa Valley California. My daughter is a ballerina with the Napa Regional Dance Company, and I am a "BalletDad". I enjoy taking photos of her and the other ballerinas during their performances. One of my main passions with photography is to shoot air races every September in Reno, Nevada. It's the fastest motor sport on the planet. This will be my 40th year and I'm a pylon judge so I have the best seat in the house. There is nothing like having 8 WWII fighters flying 75' over your head at speeds between 450-500 mph! Check out the pylon judges web site at

I've been interested in photography most of my life. I bought my first SLR when I was 18. It was an Asahi Pentax. I had two lenses a 24mm and a 200mm. I later purchased a PentaxME and added a motor drive. I had my own photography business in the mid 1970s and shot photos of homes for over 10 different mortgage and real estate companies. It made me money but wasn't very challenging photography. I had a dark room then and always was printing photos. I transitioned into digital over 10 years ago with a small Olympus point and shoot. I missed having an SLR so decided to go with Nikon. I have D-80, D-100 and D-200 camera bodies. I have 28-80mm, 28-105mm, 70-300mm, 80-400mm with Vibration Reduction, 2X teleconverter and a Sigma 10-20mm lens. I use a Nikon SB-600 Speedlight flash.
I am a member of the Calistoga Camera Club which gives me the opportunity to visit with and learn from the photographers in the club. Check us out at
